1184 mapping festival 2012 05 19 s pecorini ork ch b31c4713Over the course of this four-day workshop, participants will first acquire basic knowledge of mapping techniques (2D, 2,5D, 3D), photometry, lenses, and content creation. They will then use software such as Photoshop, AfterEffects, 3dsMax, C4D, Realflow and MadMapper to create content and ultimately work on its rendering and finalisation.

At the end of the workshop, the content created by participants will be publicly screened at the Museum of Art and History of Geneva (MAH).

László Zsolt Bordos

László Zsolt Bordos (also known as Bordos.ArtWorks) is a 3D mapping artist living in Budapest, Hungary. He started as a VJ in year 2000, performing in the underground party culture of Budapest. With his participation to huge size architectural slide projections (2002-2005) and his outrageous video projections and 3D mapping projects (2006-present), he became a pioneer of the genre. Since year 2010, cooperating with other artists he started to run the projects under the name "Bordos.ArtWorks and Invited Artists", which became internationally recognized as eminent representatives of video projection mapping. Since late 2014, Bordos is focusing on solo art projects, installations, architectural and scenery projections for theaters and operas.

Viktor Vicsek

Viktor Vicsek is a Hungarian light artist with a background in 3D animation and software development.
He has been working with light and projection for the last two decades.
He is the co-founder of Budapest based Limelight Projection, which is now celebrating 11 years of existence.

Ivo

Ivó Kovács

HU

Ivó Kovács is a visual artist, and a degreed traditional painter at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. Over the last ten years, he has been dealing with 3D animations and visual effects, producing computer generated images and animations, and mainly 3D mapping projections. Throughout the years, he has been working with contemporary theater and dance companies, both for independent and commercial projects in Hungary and across Europe. He occasionnally performs as a VJ.
As an artist, he is interested in video spatialization using video or projection mapping techniques. He is a lecturer of projection mapping at the Media Design department of the Budapest Metropolitan University of Applied Sciences. Born in 1979, he lives and works in Budapest, Hungary.
